The President instructed the General Prosecutor’s Office and the recently created institute of the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights to coordinate their efforts in protecting interests of Russian families.
Topics of discussion at the meeting included practices for applying civil legislation intended to guarantee the rights of minors.
On September 1, 2009 the President signed an executive order on the establishment of the office of the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, and appointed Alexei Golovan to this position.
