The message reads, in part:
“You have a full agenda, which is traditionally focused on the fight against international terrorism, extremism and transnational organised crime, as well as illicit drug trafficking and migration. Another issue of major significance is information security.
An effective achievement of these challenging goals calls for coordinating the efforts of the international community as a whole. It is also of crucial importance that regional and global security measures are based on consolidated approaches and strict compliance with the principles and norms of international law. Actions that infringe on the legitimate interests of sovereign states as well as double standards are absolutely unacceptable.
I would like to point out that Russia is ready for very close cooperation with all interested partners in dealing with the threats and challenges facing humanity.
I hope that your interaction will be constructive and fruitful, that you will be able to share professional experience and outline new forms of practical cooperation.”
The 8th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues is underway in Tver Region. It is attended by secretaries of national security councils, government ministers, aides to presidents and prime ministers in charge of security matters, as well as heads of special services.
