The message reads, in part:
“This anniversary represents 10 years of the Fund’s productive and truly dedicated work to promote the Russian language and the values of Russian culture abroad and to expand humanitarian cooperation.
I am convinced that Russkiy Mir will continue to play an important unifying role for all who hold Russia dear, retain their spiritual ties to our country, and feel involved in its future. I am sure you will continue your multifaceted work to carry out patriotic, educational and informational projects, strengthen our relations with compatriots abroad and develop intercultural ties”.
The Russkiy Mir [Russian World] Foundation was established by a presidential executive order of June 21, 2007, to popularise Russian language and culture abroad. Over the past 10 years, working on a partnership basis, the Foundation has opened more than 250 Russian centres and offices in 76 countries and has supported around 3000 cultural, educational and language projects. The Fund’s partners include some 5000 organisations and institutions in more than 100 countries.
