The message reads, in part:
“Your traditional meetings are rightfully considered as one of the main events in the Russian-language media space around the Russian world. For many years now, the World Association of Russian Press (WARP) has united media heads and our compatriots from many different countries who hold dear the Russian language and culture and who are interested in the history and life of Russia.
During this congress, which is being held in hospitable Belarus, you will be able to meet with your colleagues and friends again, exchange journalistic experience and discuss current professional challenges. You are well aware of the huge educational, consolidating and formative potential of the media and their responsibility for providing an honest and objective coverage of global developments.
I am convinced that your congress will proceed in a creative and business-like atmosphere, will open the door to new, substantive and relevant projects and will also promote international humanitarian cooperation.”
The 19th World Congress of Russian Press has opened in Minsk. It is being attended by media representatives from over 50 countries.
