Mr Yevstifeyev updated the President on the socioeconomic situation in the republic. They also discussed questions that Mari El residents raised with the President during the Direct Line.
The President noted that Mr Yevstifeyev has been heading the Republic for only 100 days, and many issues had accumulated over the past years, of course, but nonetheless, he has to take responsibility for the mistakes of the past as well and therefore has a duty to address all matters, both critical and promising alike.
Mr Putin also drew attention to complaints from local residents expressed during the Direct Line. They include resettlement from dilapidated housing, a shortage of kindergartens, insufficient supply of school textbooks, and problems with road and public transport development.
