The message reads, in part:
“This conference is taking place on the Year of the Environment, which has brought together dedicated and driven people who are participating in the programmes and initiatives timed to coincide with this event. The Year of the Environment has consolidated the efforts of the public, the state and businesses in response to global and national environmental challenges.
Reducing the adverse impact of economic activity on the environment is one of our national priorities today. Success in this undertaking is a precondition for the steady and sustainable development of the country, public health and survival of rare flora and fauna species. Let me note that the Year of the Environment has launched large-scale projects that are called for and are meant to attract extensive public attention to conservation issues, to cultivating a caring attitude towards our natural resources in our citizens, especially young people, to raising environmental awareness and promoting clean modern technology. I am certain this work will continue.”
