The message reads, in part:
“It is pleasing that recently the Victory Ambassadors movement gas grown into a powerful and respected organisation that unites young, proactive and committed people, true likeminded people. Your impressive list of important and kind deeds includes supporting veterans, work to restore historical, military and cultural sites, taking care of war cemeteries, participating in the holding of the Immortal Regiment march, and many other equally important projects.
Following your heart and soul, you chose this difficult yet highly responsible mission. Partly due to your activities and the selfless labour of your companions, this year has been declared the Year of the Volunteer in our country.
I am confident that with such a positive attitude and ardent desire to help people, you will definitely reach your goals.“
Each year, the Victory Ambassadors National Contest selects the 200 best volunteers from Russia's 85 regions. The winners become organisers at key events for the May 9 celebrations – Victory parades and the Immortal Regiment marches in Moscow and St Petersburg.
