The message from the President of Russia reads, in part:
”I most warmly welcome all the participants and guests of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which is once again hosted by Russia’s hospitable northern capital.
Open discussions at the Forum involving leading Russian and foreign politicians, academics, experts, corporate executives and business association leaders, as well as representatives of the media and civil society, will cover key issues on the global agenda, the current state of the world economy and prospects for its development.
Together, they will consider how to steer the world economy towards steady growth. By harnessing the wealth of scientific and technological potential that is rapidly expanding in digital and other areas today, we can improve the quality of life and boost stable and harmonious development in all nations and across the world as a whole.
A 21st-century economy that is effective, is built on forward-thinking business models, and is socially responsible, one that adheres to strict environmental standards and takes account of people’s real needs is something that is in all of our interests. If we are to meet these challenges, it is important that we do not allow artificial limitations to curb multilateral trade, finance, manufacturing, or investment. We need to fix the imbalances that exist in global markets.
And it is crucial that we strive towards increasing mutual trust, promoting wide-ranging integration processes, and realizing large-scale and promising projects. Russia is always open to this kind of partnership and cooperation.
I am confident that this Forum will see the development of worthwhile ideas and initiatives that will facilitate the recovery and growth of the world economy, as well as the signing of mutually beneficial agreements and contracts.
I wish you all a productive, rewarding, and successful Forum.“
