The President’s message reads, in part:
“I was shocked and saddened to learn of the criminal attacks in Baghdad on Sunday, October 25, that killed and injured hundreds of people.
I resolutely condemn these inhuman terrorist attacks. Nothing justifies any act of terrorism against peaceful civilians, and state, social or religious institutions, no matter what its aims and motives. It is on this basis that the international community is waging an uncompromising fight against international terrorism.
I ask you to pass on my sincere condolences to the victims’ families and my words of sympathy and wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured.”
Two car bombs exploded in central Baghdad on October 25, killing more than 100 people and injuring around 500.
