The presidents of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan will discuss key aspects of cooperation in the Caspian region in various areas. They will also review the implementation of the decisions taken during the previous meetings of the heads of state of the ‘Caspian five’.
The core event of the summit will be the signing of the Convention On the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, which has been in development since 1996. Additionally, a number of five-party intergovernmental documents will be signed during the meeting.
