The President gave his assessment of the October 11th elections to regional legislatures and local self-government bodies, noting that interest in elections has increased and that these elections had a definite political outcome. At the same time, a number of parties made lodged complaints regarding the Central Election Commission's work and questioned the results at individual polling stations. The President also emphasised that questions regarding these elections were raised not only by opposition parties, but also by United Russia, which won the elections.
Mr Medvedev confirmed that he will make a number of relevant proposals while preparing his Address to the Federal Assembly (Russian parliament).
