The message reads, in part:
“I would like to point out that the choice of venue for hosting your artistic screenings is deeply symbolic. The great chronicles of Volokolamsk has many legendary pages exemplifying valour, courage and heroism. This city also played a special role in 1941 during the Battle of Moscow.
It is heartening to see that in recent years, there have been more and more outstanding artistic films dedicated to the military and labour achievements of our ancestors. Your Festival is a good opportunity to introduce audiences, people of different ages, to films like this, to works by both masters and beginners. Of course, this project also serves noble educational purposes, strengthens continuity between generations and preserves the memory of the feat our people performed during the Great Patriotic War.”
