The message reads, in part:
“This is the second time that representatives from businesses, government bodies and the expert community from many countries have gathered in St Petersburg to discuss the current issues of the fishing industry. The agenda includes the rational use of World Ocean resources, sustainable fishing and global food security. I would like to note that these issues are a priority for Russia. We are in the middle of a large upgrade of our fishing capacity, with modern fish processing plants and new vessels under construction.
It is important that discussions and round tables are complemented by an informative exhibition that introduces participants to the operations of major Russian and foreign fishing and fish processing companies as well as innovative technology. This approach showcases the capabilities of potential partners, contributes to a more open and constructive dialogue and, of course, produces joint initiatives and projects to develop business cooperation in the industry.”
