At the beginning of the meeting, Vladimir Putin noted that regular meetings with leaders of various political party factions in parliament help him to keep in touch with their positions on key development issues, the current situation and their proposals and assessments of the executive authorities’ work.
Sergei Mironov spoke about the work of the party faction in parliament and the overall activities of the party A Just Russia. In particular, he reported on the work of the party’s centres for the protection of the people’s rights, where Russians can receive free legal advice. Over five years, more than 1.5 million people received specific legal assistance, and more than 57 billion rubles were recovered to people through the efforts of these centres.
The leader of A Just Russia also spoke about the preparation of the draft law On the People’s Safeguarding in the Russian Federation, submitted to the State Duma in December last year, and about the party’s two anti-corruption initiatives, which are now being reviewed by the State Duma.
