The telegram reads, in part:
“Our country is rightly proud of its status as a great maritime nation, of its prominent scientists, designers, engineers and workers, who have written brilliant pages in the history of Russian shipbuilding and set the highest standards of work in this industry.
It is important that the present generation of shipbuilders continue the work of their predecessors with dignity. True professionals working in design offices, ship-repair and shipbuilding yards, are creating powerful nuclear- and diesel-powered icebreakers, research and cruise vessels, up-to-date surface and underwater naval ships, retooling and upgrading plants and broadly adopting cutting-edge innovative technologies. Many of those developments are truly unique.
I am sure that on the basis of our glorious traditions, our significant human resources and the industry’s intellectual potential you will, as ever, effectively resolve the tasks in hand for the benefit of Russia.”
