President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky at the initiative of the Ukrainian side.
A positive assessment was given to the freeing and transfer of individuals who had been detained in Ukraine and Russia. An emphasis was made on the humanitarian aspect of this event, which has great significance for the normalisation and improvement of bilateral relations.
During the discussion of an inter-Ukrainian settlement, the officials highlighted the importance of abiding by the cease-fire regime and the orderly disengagement of forces and equipment of the opposing parties on the line of contact.
During an exchange of opinions regarding the prospects of organising a Normandy Four summit, the President of Russia highlighted the necessity to continue comprehensive preparatory work to ensure a meeting in this format will produce results and facilitate the fulfillment of current agreements at the highest level, first and foremost the Minsk “complex of measures.”
The parties agreed to maintain contact.
