The message reads, in part:
“Your Forum is considered, with good reason, as a major public event, and its agenda packed with important subjects discussed there invariably attracts internationally reputed participants from Russia and other countries. The forum offers a venue for substantive discussions, meetings and interesting exhibitions and concerts, and it is a good place for making professional and personal contacts.
I believe that the Forum’s theme this year, Cultural Codes in a Globalising World, is very topical. Culture plays an important role in the development of the world and in strengthening international ties. But it also helps preserve the distinctive nature of each ethnic group and is a way for carrying basic values and moral guidelines across generations. We treasure Russia’s unique cultural and spiritual heritage and the rich experience of interaction between widely different traditions, languages and customs. We are always open and ready to expand the space for intercultural dialogue.
I have no doubt that this forum and its decisions will help build up international cooperation and launch new joint projects and initiatives in the humanitarian sphere.”
