The message reads, in part:
“For many years, the Kerch ferry crossing was considered the shortest transport corridor linking the Crimean Peninsula with the mainland of our country.
At the beginning of this century, the need arose for a radical upgrade of the ferry service. The company was given ambitious and serous tasks. Thanks to your professionalism, skills and responsible attitude towards business, all of them have been successfully completed: railway ferry connection was restored, and a modern port infrastructure was created in the shortest possible time.
And of course, a new significant page in the history of this strategically important project was opened after the reunification of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol with Russia. All the years before the Crimean Bridge was put into operation the railway ferry service performed its mission with dignity and at a high level.
In difficult conditions, the fleet and coastal unit employees reliably ensured the uninterrupted transportation of a huge number of passengers and cargo between the ports of the Caucasus and Crimea; with their honest and conscientious work, they made a serious contribution to the socioeconomic development of the south of Russia and did a lot to improve the quality of people’s lives.”
