The two presidents, who are directly overseeing the preparation of a new strategic offensive arms treaty, continued their substantial exchange of views on the results achieved so far and the prospects for completing work on this agreement of immense importance for strategic stability in the world.
Mr Medvedev and Mr Obama noted with satisfaction that the two countries’ delegations in Geneva are carrying out intensive and purposeful work, making it possible to speak of substantial progress in the negotiating process.
The two presidents agreed to give the instruction to continue active efforts and maintain the high level and pace of cooperation in order to reach final agreements on all points.
