The President’s message reads, in part:
“This special day, established in November 1949, is observed by many countries and is aimed at attracting the attention of the state and society to the issues of protecting the rights and legal interests of children, as well as improving education and healthcare systems.
I would like to emphasise that in Russia, issues regarding the upbringing of children and strengthening family values are among the key national priorities. It is vital that every child is healthy and happy and brought up with care and love. In this regard, I want to praise the huge, important work of the Russian Children’s Fund. Its socially important charity, educational, cultural and creative projects are designed to support children and develop their talents and skills.
Unfortunately, today, during the spread of a dangerous disease, the traditional celebrations that have been held in Moscow for many years have been canceled.
But, I am sure, we will together overcome these hardships and as soon as it becomes safe, participants in the festive events organised by the fund, will meet again in our country’s capital.”
