The message reads, in part:
“Tiger Day is dedicated to one of the most beautiful and truly regal representatives of wild cats. This day has become a true festival and a symbol of the unique treasures of Russian pristine nature. Tiger Day is marked by everybody who cares about the fate of this predator that was on the verge of extinction not so very long ago, and who realises the huge significance of preserving our natural legacy for the present and future generations.
I would like to offer special words of acknowledgement to the biologists and local history experts, conservation specialists, gamekeepers and volunteers. It is largely thanks to their tireless hard work and personal example that comfortable and safe conditions for tigers and other endangered species are created while society and primarily young people are becoming ever more committed to the values of environmental consciousness, deep understanding of the importance of active involvement in conservation projects, environmental watch and awareness campaigns.”
