For over 40 years, this brilliant, unconventional and creative man headed the Moscow University Department of Journalism. He earned unconditional authority and tremendous respect from all those who passed through the iconic Zasursky School. He was a model of top culture, known for his invariably attentive, well-wishing attitude towards students. His students, colleagues and friends rightly consider him a talented scholar, unique pedagogue and organiser of the academic process. Dean of the Department of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University from 1965 to 2007, PhD (Philology), Professor and Merited Journalist of Russia, Yasen Zasursky died on August 1 at the age of 91.
