The message reads in part:
“The passing of Vladimir Sungorkin is a great loss to Russian journalism, and for all of us. He was a patriot, and an extraordinary, creative, and gifted person. He travelled a long journey, starting as a reporter covering the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline and going on to head of one of the largest and most popular media outlets, the legendary Komsomolka. And he always set an example of loyalty to his vocation, to professional ethics, and could rally his colleagues to build a real team of like-minded people.”
