The message reads, in part:
”The ties of partnership uniting more than 160 towns and cities of our countries have traditionally been an important component of Russian-Belarusian interregional cooperation and are an in-demand and effective mechanism of public diplomacy. Regular contacts between heads of municipal agencies and entrepreneurs, scholars and cultural figures allow for the sharing of useful experience and help develop and implement promising joint projects in the economic, social, infrastructure, humanitarian and other spheres.
The motto of today's meeting – ”Let the Union Be!” – is fully in line with the urgent task of promoting mutually beneficial integration processes within the Union State. I am confident that you will hold meaningful and constructive discussions and put forward ideas and initiatives that will further enhance multifaceted Russian-Belarusian cooperation for the benefit of our brotherly nations.”
