Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his convincing victory in the early presidential elections, held on July 9.
The presidents reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further expanding friendly Russian-Uzbekistani relations across the board, in line with the principles of allied collaboration and strategic partnership.
Earlier in the day, a message of congratulations was sent to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The message reads, in part:
“The convincing victory in the elections confirms your high political authority and indicates that there is wide-ranging popular support for your policy of large-scale transformations aimed at ensuring the country’s further dynamic development, at strengthening its international positions and protecting the rights and interests of citizens.
We highly value your principled position on strengthening relations of all-round strategic partnership and allied collaboration between Russia and Uzbekistan. I am confident that, through joint efforts, we will ensure stable growth of our mutually beneficial cooperation in all spheres of bilateral ties, and that we will also coordinate our activities in regional and international affairs. This certainly meets the aspirations of the peoples of Russia and Uzbekistan.”
Vladimir Putin also wished the President of Uzbekistan good health, well-being and every success in his responsible activities as a state leader.
