The message reads, in part:
“The transport sector has traditionally played an important, system-forming role, serving the development of the economy and social sphere, improving the quality of life, and ensuring the implementation of important projects in Russian regions.
Millions of workers from all parts of the industry – road, air, railway, motor, sea and river transport, specialists from various professions – know their jobs well and work with full dedication. I am confident that this is a reliable basis for modernising infrastructure, creating promising areas for passenger traffic and international freight logistics corridors, substantially upgrading public and other types of transport, and integrating our historical regions of Donbas and Novorossiya into the country's single transport framework. And of course, it is necessary to make extensive use of advanced domestic technologies, introduce strict environmental standards and effective public-private partnership mechanisms, improve the personnel training system and sector-specific education.
These and other topical issues are discussed at the Transport of Russia forum and exhibition, which are traditionally held in Moscow. I expect that these events will give a start to new business initiatives and make it possible to outline ambitious plans for the future.“
