The message reads, in part:
“This major international sports event enjoys a well-deserved reputation for strengthening cooperation between the law enforcement agencies in different countries, and promoting physical fitness among police officers, military personnel, and rescuers. The tournament is known for its longstanding traditions and always brings together multiple martial arts fans who cheer in the stands.
I would like to acknowledge the effort that the tournament’s organisers – the National Union of Judo Veterans and the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation to support participants in the special military operation – have made to incorporate the We Remember social programme as part of the competition. It is designed to provide targeted assistance to the families of law enforcement employees who perished in the line of duty, and to preserve the memory of fallen heroes. It is also very important that you support our soldiers and commanders who are fighting today for Russia’s freedom and independence, as well as their families and friends.
I am sure that this year’s event will be a great success and will make a significant contribution to promoting the values of judo, physical fitness, and a healthy and active lifestyle.”
