The traditional National Unity Day ceremony brought together representatives of religious denominations and members of public and youth organisations, including the Russian Student Rescue Corps, the Defenders of the Fatherland foundation, Committee of Families of Fatherland's Soldiers, the Special Military Operation Veteran Association, the Popular Russian Front, the Yunarmy movement, the Vympel centre, the Russian Search Movement and the Movement of the First community. The President had a brief conversation with them.
Celebrated on November 4, National Unity Day marks the liberation of Moscow from foreign invaders by the people’s volunteer army led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky in 1612.
