The message reads, in part:
“The Russian state and society prioritise the rational use of natural resources and ensuring environmental safety. The preservation of the ecosystem’s biodiversity, and most importantly, the quality of life and health of millions of people, largely depends on the successful resolution of these issues.
Today, the list of top priority tasks in this area that demand prompt solutions includes the comprehensive restoration of the ecosystems in our historical regions: Novorossiya and the republics of Donbass. While restoring peaceful life there and reviving large industrial enterprises, energy and transport infrastructure facilities, we are guided by the highest standards of environmental protection, as well as water and forest resource management. Let me emphasise that, when implementing large programmes like these, it is important to fully utilise the advanced achievements of both domestic and foreign science, actively share the best experience and practices, make efforts to improve environmental culture, especially among young people, and develop volunteer movements.
I am confident that the Dokuchayev Conference will become a platform for mutually beneficial and constructive discussions, and that its recommendations will be implemented to bring tangible results.”
