The message reads, in part:
“The Russian Federation has always attached great importance to promoting friendly ties with Muslim countries, both bilaterally and in the context of its dialogue with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
It is important that our positions on current regional and global issues are closely aligned in many respects amid today’s difficult international situation. This is underscored by the theme of the meeting, “Russia and the Islamic world: Cooperation in an emerging multipolar era.” In fact, we are united in our commitment to building a fair democratic world order based on true equality, the rule of international law and free from any forms of discrimination, diktat, and sanctions pressure.
The participants in the meeting will consider a wide range of issues. As usual, the agenda related to settling regional conflicts and crises, as well as combatting the terrorist threat, deserves a special focus. It is also important to think about coordinating efforts in education to provide more effective resistance to the spread of extremist ideology.
Overall, I am confident that you will hold constructive and substantial discussions, and that the ideas and initiatives put forward by the Group will facilitate further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries.”
