In his remarks at the meeting, Mr Medvedev stressed the need for measures to develop small businesses, especially measures to remove excessive administrative barriers.
Mr Medvedev said that such measures include reducing the number of inspections, ensuring that the police do not overstep their competence in this area, and a transition to a notification-based procedure for registering small businesses.
Taking part in the meeting were First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina, and the heads of public organisations OPORA RUSSIA (All-Russian Non-governmental Organization of Small and Medium Business) and Business Russia, Sergei Borisov and Boris Titov.
