The message reads, in part:
“Greetings on the occasion of the opening of the International Conference “Study and Conservation of Snow Leopard in the World. Joining Efforts,” which brought together participants from our country and a number of foreign countries in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan.
Today, much-needed research, awareness, and creative projects are being successfully implemented in Russia, and expeditions and tours are being organised to contribute to the great and very important cause which is to preserve our unique natural heritage, and to increase the number of rare and endangered species of animals and plants, including the snow leopard.
In this regard, I would like to note the significant and productive activity of the Interregional Association Centre for the Study and Conservation of Snow Leopard Irbis. In close cooperation with government officials, zoologists, ecologists, local historians, staff of nature reserves, and volunteers, the centre has managed to achieve tangible results in the conservation of snow leopards, providing a safe and comfortable environment for their habitat. And, of course, it is gratifying to know that thanks to your enthusiasm and dedication, a caring attitude to nature is being formed in society, especially among young people, and the foundations of environmental culture are being reinforced.
