Alexei Tsydenov reported on support measures for participants in the special military operation and their families. The regional package includes 48 measures, including free meals for the children of participants in the special military operation at general and vocational training schools, and free care for the parents who require social assistance. The housing and utility costs of the families whose members are missing in action are fully covered. The participants in the special military operation are supplied with various equipment, including thermal sights and walkie-talkies. Adaptive sports are being developed for combat veterans, some of whom have won national competitions.
The Head of Buryatia briefed the President on the establishment of the Patrioticheskaya priority development area, where robotic systems, drones and FPV systems are being produced.
As for the economy in general, Alexei Tsydenov stated that industrial production added over five percent last year and a total of 32 percent since 2019. Buryatia ranks 32nd in Russia in terms of wage growth. Last year, wages increased by five percent there. Investments in the republic are growing rapidly, in particular, due to the modernisation of the Eastern Operating Domain, the LEP-500 electricity transmission and other major projects.
Other issues on the agenda included the construction of new kindergartens, schools, culture, sports and healthcare facilities, and roads, as well as the repair of bridges. Alexei Tsydenov also updated the President on the launch of Russia’s largest zinc mining and enrichment plant and plans to start developing Russia’s largest beryllium deposit this year.
Replying to the President’s question about current challenges, Alexei Tsydenov said they were connected with the environment, in particular, waste disposal and the construction of dumping grounds and water purification facilities near Lake Baikal. He pointed out that the republic would work within the framework of relevant national projects, which had been approved.
