In the Far Eastern Federal District, Vladimir Putin will attend the 10th Eastern Economic Forum, held under the motto ”The Far East: Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity.“ As the main event, the President will take part in the plenary session of the forum on September 5, together with Prime Minister of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Sonexay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Mongolia Gombojav Zandanshatar and Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Li Hongzhong. The day before, the President is to hold bilateral meetings with each of the three officials.
During the trip, Vladimir Putin will, as usual, pay particular attention to the development prospects for the Far East. Notably, during his tour of the local branch of the Russia National Centre, the President will see an interactive presentation showcasing the results of the region's growth, with a ceremony to be held afterwards via videoconference to open a number of newly-built industrial and transportation infrastructure facilities. In addition, the President will hold a meeting to discuss the development of the region's fuel and energy sector.
The President's schedule also includes a working meeting with Governor of the Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako.
