“The motor transport industry is rightly considered one of the fundamental and strategic sectors of the Russian economy and an important and integral part of the country’s infrastructure. Growth of industrial and agricultural production in Russia, strengthening of its interregional and international links, balanced development of cities and towns, and social well-being of millions of people depend largely on the tireless and patient labour of drivers and mechanics, engineers and designers, workers of industry facilities and enterprises.
I would like to note that in the past years, road infrastructure has undergone extensive upgrade thanks to respective national projects and state programmes, including the launch of modern public transport that complies with the latest safety and environmental standards. The market of motor transport services is expanding, while professional qualification and training requirements get more stringent.
It goes without saying that, as we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory this year, my warmest greetings go to our dear veterans. We are proud of the heroism of road workers and frontline drivers, commending their resilience and bravery.
I am confident that now and in the future, your experience, knowledge along with the state’s robust support will help you achieve all set goals.”
