Dmitry Medvedev met with President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy over a working lunch at the Petrovsky Prichal restaurant on the banks of the Don River.
During the informal event, Mr Medvedev and the EU leaders discussed economic development issues concerning Russia, individual EU countries, and the EU in general. The main issues currently on the international agenda, in particular the Iranian nuclear programme and Middle East peace settlement, were also discussed.
