First and foremost the presidents discussed pressing issues of economic cooperation within the Commonwealth and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
Dmitry Medvedev also congratulated the President of Ukraine on his 60th birthday and wished him health and success in the demanding position of President. The Russian President expressed his hope that under Mr Yanukovych's leadership Ukraine will further develop as a stable, prosperous and powerful nation with reliable partners.
