Meeting with Defence Ministry senior officials and defence industry representatives.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Good afternoon, colleagues.

We are completing this series of meetings on strengthening the Armed Forces and the industry that is aimed at meeting these goals, that is, developing the defence industry. I would like to thank all those taking part in the discussion.

Today I suggest we focus on aspects of building an advanced technology reserve based on breakthrough technologies. We have just discussed some aspects of these issues separately with the Minister of Defence.

We will certainly also discuss our progress in the most important research and development projects.

Allow me to underline that the entire scientific community’s intellectual potential should be employed in maintaining national defence capability. I primarily have in mind the scientists, designers, and engineers who are working to create the most innovative systems – all those who will provide the Armed Forces with an opportunity to adequately respond to existing and possible future challenges and risks to Russia's military security.

Let us get to work.
