Dmitry Medvedev honoured the memory of the members of the Lokomotiv hockey team and the crew of the Yak-42 airplane who died in the plane crash near Yaroslavl. The President also held a meeting on investigating the causes of the crash and providing assistance to the victims’ families.
Mr Medvedev took part in the Global Policy Forum, on the sidelines of which he met with UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, and President of Turkey Abdullah Gul. Together with Mr Gul, the President paid tribute to the members of the Lokomotiv hockey team, laying flowers at the symbolic tribute site at the entrance to the team’s home stadium – Arena-2000 Lokomotiv.
