On June 8, as part of his state visit to China, Vladimir Putin had talks with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi
Jinping. Additionally, the President of the Russian Federation was presented
with the Chinese Order of Friendship. The Russian and Chinese leaders also
visited Tianjin, arriving via a high-speed electric train.
On June 9–10, Vladimir Putin took part in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Qingdao. Following the consultations, a set of documents was signed, including the Qingdao
Declaration. The President of the Russian Federation had a meeting with heads
of foreign states on the sidelines of the summit.
After the official programme, Vladimir Putin spoke
with journalists.
