Visit to South Africa. BRICS Summit

The Russian President took part in the 10th anniversary BRICS Summit. The main theme of the international forum was Collaboration for Inclusive Growth and Shared Prosperity in the 4th Industrial Revolution.

On day one, steps were discussed for the further development of BRICS' activity in priority areas: politics and security, trade, the economy and finances, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as coordination of activities on the most pressing regional issues. A number of documents were signed, including the Johannesburg Declaration.

On day two, members of the association held working sessions on BRICS development and strategic partnership priorities, as well as a separate outreach meeting with invited representatives from several African countries and incumbent chairpersons of several international associations.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Russian President held meetings with the heads of a number of foreign states.

At the end of the two-day BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, Vladimir Putin made a statement for the press and spoke with Russian journalists.
