Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting of the Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations. The participants discussed current issues related to Russia’s state ethnic policy,
the influence of the country’s geographic and demographic development on interethnic relations, and additional measures to preserve and protect the native languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation.
The President also visited the Museum of Nature and Man, the oldest museum in Khanty-Mansiysk. The President learned about the activities of the research and cultural institution and toured the historical and ethnographic exhibitions.
In addition, Vladimir Putin held a working meeting
with the Governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra, Nataliya
Komarova. The Governor briefed the President on the socioeconomic situation in the region.
