Vladimir Putin travelled to Pyongyang on a friendly state visit at the invitation of Kim Jong-un.
Chairman of State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong-un held an official
welcoming ceremony for the President of Russia on Kim Il-sung Square.
Russian-Korean talks began in an expanded
format and continued in a restricted format. Following the consultations,
Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un signed the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
between the two countries and made statements for the press.
Later, the President of Russia laid a wreath at the Liberation Monument and attended a reception hosted by the Chairman of State Affairs of the Democratic People's
Republic of Korea. Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un took a walk around the Kumsusan
residence, and attended a gala concert.
At the end of his visit, the President of Russia visited the Church of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in Pyongyang.
