Vladimir
Putin has paid an official visit to Mongolia at the invitation of President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.
Ahead of the talks, the President of Russia was officially welcomed by the President of Mongolia in a ceremony on Sukhbaatar Square in Ulaanbaatar.
The Russian-Mongolian
talks began with a conversation between Vladimir Putin and Ukhnaagiin
Khurelsukh in a restricted format, followed by an extended format meeting. The consultations concluded with the signing of a set of documents and the two
leaders making statements to the media.
The President
of Russia also met with Chairman of the State Great Khural Dashzegve
Amarbayasgalan and Prime Minister of Mongolia Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene.
As part of his
visit, Vladimir Putin attended the celebrations to mark the 85th anniversary of the victory at Khalkhin Gol, laying a wreath at the monument to Georgy Zhukov
and addressing an official reception.
The President
of Russia also visited a school of the Ulaanbaatar branch of Plekhanov Russian
University of Economics.
