The participants discussed current matters on the socioeconomic agenda and examined the situation in southeast Ukraine, following an increase in incidents of firing by Ukrainian security forces at residential areas in the Donbass region and members of the OSCE mission working in the area.
The Security Council members also discussed matters related to efforts to prevent the spread of the Islamic State terrorist group’s activities.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
