The participants discussed international issues and exchanged opinions on confidence-building measures over the Baltic Sea in light of the recent meeting between the presidents of Russia and Finland.
Other issues on the agenda included possible Russia-NATO contacts and the situation in Syria.
The meeting focused on control over performance-enhancing drugs in sports and the inadmissibility of their use. In particular, the participants discussed legislative initiatives to tighten responsibility for the use and encouragement of use of performance-enhancing drugs. They also spoke in favour of allowing law enforcement agencies to conduct investigations in this sphere.
The participants also exchanged opinions on the domestic economic agenda ahead of next week’s meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev.
