Boris Dubrovsky, head of the working group and Governor of Chelyabinsk Region, provided a progress update on the preparation of the working group’s report. The draft report includes sections devoted to Russia’s role in addressing global environmental problems and an analysis of the state of the environment and threats to environmental security, based on which the goals of and possible paths toward Russia’s transition to environmentally balanced development were formulated. The working group includes the heads of federal ministries, services and agencies, as well as the environmental divisions of regional administrations and representatives of academia, the expert community and businesses.
The work to draft the report will continue. Its final version will be discussed at the final meeting of the working group in November.
