Meeting participants discussed the implementation of road projects, including legislative amendments stipulating the creation of regional centres for monitoring the cost of construction materials, conducting more cost-effective state expert checks of motorway construction and reconstruction projects and the introduction of mechanisms to extend the service life of regional motorways. They noted the importance of drafting a nationwide programme for bringing bridges and railway crossings in conformity with preset standards and allocating extra funding for these purposes.
They also conducted a detailed exchange of opinions on measures to reduce road accident rates. Meeting participants noted the need to draft a state programme to ensure road traffic safety in the Russian Federation until 2030, discussed the implementation of projects aiming to promote law-abiding behaviour among drivers and the need to introduce new digital services.
Measures to achieve goals set forth in the national project Safe and Quality Roads, as well as current issues and ways of resolving them were also discussed.
Taking part in the meeting were Deputy Security Council Secretary Alexander Grebenkin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Construction Yevgeny Moskvichev, representatives of Russian regions, relevant federal executive agencies, research and expert organisations.
