Presidential Aide Igor Levitin and Primorye Territory Governor and State Council member Oleg Kozhemyako co-chaired a session of the working group to prepare a joint meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport and the State Council Presidium on the role of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and municipalities in promoting physical fitness, sports and tourism.
Among the speakers were representatives of the Ministry of Sport, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Economic Development and other involved federal executive bodies.
The most important issues included improvements in the legal regulation of physical fitness and sports and tournaments, promoting public sports, creating proper conditions for attracting qualified local personnel, and the availability and effective use of existing facilities and equipment.
The working group reviewed the main challenges in developing successful tourism and proposals to promote tourism in the Russian regions and municipalities, the solution to which should increase both domestic and inbound tourist volumes many times over.
According to the meeting participants, lifting visa restrictions and ensuring transport access are on the list of things to do.
