Presidential Aide, State Council Secretary Igor Levitin and Head of the Republic of Buryatia, Chairman of the State Council Commission on Transport Alexei Tsydenov co-chaired a meeting on the drafting of the Russian Federation transport strategy until 2030 and a forecast until 2035.
Representatives of federal executive bodies, regions of the Russian Federation, as well as academia and business associations took part in the meeting.
After listening to a report made by the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the participants agreed on the need for matters relating to developing public transport, light aviation and general-purpose aviation to be better reflected in the transport strategy.
During the discussion, it was suggested that the Ministry and those in charge of drafting the strategy align the financial aspects of the draft strategy with the capabilities of the regions, and highlight the measures designed to ensure the development and maintenance of the transport infrastructure.
The meeting concluded by issuing a recommendation to the Ministry of Transport to revise the strategy taking into consideration the proposals and comments made by the participants.
